Transcription

In this video, we will learn how to upload images and link them to specific products and variants. We are creating a mug product with black and green variants. At the moment, we only have the default variant, so let's quickly create another one.

Pick the variant you want to upload the image for and click on its image or the edit button. The assets selector allows you to pick existing images or to upload new ones. Let's click on the upload images button.

Uploading Images

You can upload up to 10 images at once and at most 50 images per product or variant. Each image has a position and the product cover is always the image in the first spot. If you upload more images, they will be appended to the existing ones. You can also update the alt text for the images.

This alt text will not be used on the products page, which will just keep the product name as the alt text, but you will be able to search uploaded images with the alt text you specify. If you ever need to look for uploaded images in your assets collection, simply type the file name or the alt text you are writing here into the search bar.

Managing Images

If you want to swap the positions of your assets, simply drag and drop the image before or after another one. A lateral border will appear, indicating the current direction of the swap. If you want to remove an image, you can click the remove icon.

Remember that your images are now uploaded and available for later use. Simply go to the image list and select the one you need if you want to insert an image you have already uploaded. Don't forget to click the green save button specific to the variance assets.

Sharing Images Between Variants

To add the images to the other variant, simply repeat the process. Images of other variants are never shared.

To share images between variants, upload them to the relative product and make sure that all variants are inheriting the assets. This way you do not need to specify the image on every variant, but only on the product.
